EduCanNURS at the Nordic Forum for Nurse Educators 2024

Sharing innovations and insights in nursing education
The Nordic Forum for Nurse Educators 2024 was held in Iceland from November 11-13 at the University of Akureyri, in collaboration with Akureyri Hospital and NORDPLUS MEDICO (Nordic Medication Educators Network). This event focuses on sharing innovatio
ns, ideas, and experiences among nursing educators, as well as exploring the latest advancements in using technology within nursing education. The event is aimed at educators, teachers, and researchers from diverse educational institutions, clinical settings, and academia.
EduCanNURS: Progress and insights
At the forum, we present in our pitch the EduCanNURS project, which aims to develop comprehensive cancer care nursing education across Europe. The project, now one year into its three-year timeline, has made significant strides. For the co-design of the toolkit and the evaluation of cancer care education, we have conducted literature reviews, some of which are still ongoing. Additionally, we have created a Family Crabtree storyline and are in the process of producing engaging content for Thinglink to enhance learning experiences.
Exciting developments and future accessibility
Our presentation sparked significant interest, with many attendees asking when and how the educational materials will available. We were pleased to share that the materials will be available to everyone for free – demonstrating the inclusive nature of the EduCanNURS project.
Networking and future collaboration
The Nordic Forum also proved to be an excellent platform for future cooperation and networking. By sharing the goals and progress of EduCanNURS, we were able to establish valuable connections within the Nordic and Baltic countries. These relationships will help drive future collaboration and enhance the impact of cancer care nursing education across Europe.
